Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor won election Sunday to become the next chief executive of Hong Kong, according to an unofficial media count.
Lam had secured 771 votes as of 12.40 p.m., according to multiple media sources. John Tsang had received 365 votes and Woo Kwok-hing 16.
The official announcement is expected to come anytime soon.
